About Therapy

What is Therapy?

Many people experience difficulties at some stage in their lives and it is natural and normal to want to talk to someone. Counselling and Psychotherapy can provide you with an opportunity and safe environment for you to talk to someone who is trained and experienced in listening and responding in a supportive way.

Therapy can help you develop an awareness of your own thoughts, feelings needs and behaviours which will give you insight and understanding into your personal difficulties. You will then hopefully feel more comfortable and confident in developing your ability to identify and change what does not feel right for you.

I have trained in the Humanistic Person-Centred approach. Developing a trusting and therapeutic relationship is central to this as is you feeling heard, understood and less alone with your troubles. It is also paramount that you feel safe, respected and accepted throughout the process of your Therapy.

How can Therapy Help?

Therapy hopes to help you with any difficulties you may have, whether you think they are big or small. It offers you the chance to explore any problems that may be affecting your emotional and physical health and wellbeing.

Within Therapy I offer you the opportunity to safely explore any difficulties that may be affecting you.

These may include:

  • Low mood
  • Low self esteem
  • Low self worth
  • Confidence
  • Stress
  • Bereavement
  • Abuse
  • Trauma
  • Relationships
  • Family difficulties
  • Childhood related issues
  • Work Stress
  • Personal Development

There may be more unique issues troubling you or holding you back from having fun, going to work, relaxing, spending time alone or with others. Therapy can help with many issues.

My aim is to support you in helping yourself to feel more positive. You may then notice feeling more positive about yourself, your relationships, your work and your life.

I am dedicated to supporting the emotional and physical health and welfare of people. I hope that together we can improve your wellbeing.
